What is Dysport?

Dysport contains Clostridium botulinum type A toxin-haemagglutinin complex as its active ingredient.

Uses of Dysport

For Adults:

• Muscle Spasms: Dysport is used to treat muscle spasms in various areas, including:
  • Around the eyes
  • Face
  • Neck
  • Arms and shoulders
  • Legs
• Hyperhidrosis: Treats excessive sweating in the armpits that disrupts daily life.
• Urinary Incontinence: Addresses bladder issues related to spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis.

For Children:

• Cerebral Palsy (Aged 2 years and older): Helps manage muscle spasms in the legs to improve walking and in the arms.

How Dysport Works

Dysport works by using a toxin from the Clostridium botulinum bacterium to prevent muscle contractions. It blocks the release of a chemical that signals nerves to muscles, reducing abnormal muscle spasms.

Important Information Before Using Dysport

Do Not Use Dysport If:

• You are allergic to botulinum toxin type A or any of the other ingredients listed.

Warnings and Precautions:

• Consult your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse before using Dysport if you:
  • Have difficulty swallowing
  • Have a history of bronchitis, pneumonia, or breathing issues
  • Have had an allergic reaction to botulinum toxin in the past
  • Have a muscle-related condition like myasthenia gravis
  • Bleed easily
  • Have an infection or swelling at the injection site

Storage:

• Keep Dysport refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C.
